It's Not Her Job

Talking to Boy C (youngest grandchild) this weekend about school and I asked him how he liked his teacher. Replied that she is "okay, but she yells alot". "Why does she yell?" Boy C then replied, "because I'm doing something I shouldn't". Well okay, Wundermamaw then replies, "So she's trying to make you a better person. You shouldn't get upset, because she's trying to help you avoid trouble later on". "But it's Not Her Job", Boy C says (more like yells)!! Ok then, on to something else, cause I'm never going to win this one!

Hope you're having/had a great weekend. Guess what? We finally have summer type weather here! I am in my glory;)

No arguing this past week and a half, well at least until hubby ate more than half of my chocolate dessert while I was not looking!

LOL! Kids logic. "It's not her job." Interestingly, many parents feel it IS the teacher's job to raise the kids and they foist behavior shaping onto the teachers and don't do anything at home. Of course Boy C freely admits he was doing things he wasn't supposed to, and interestingly enough he didn't see the teacher as having the authority to make him behave in school. Kids!

Midlife Mama
That is precisely why I decided not to be a teacher--too many parents want the teachers to raise their children! I am from the old school, if the child did something at school to get punished for--he better look out when he got home too. It really irks me to be in public and see parents letting their children run amok and the parents turn a blind eye to it. Ok, I'm off my sandbox now, have a good day!LOL
